Has Pillsbury added any nutrition to their empty calories? Nope. Find some whole grains and then call me.

They forgot one, Hoover Biscuits. Take biscuits, dip them in chocolate, like the kind you dip strawberries in, the chocolate will kinda crystallize. Very tasty. The reason they are called Hoover Biscuits, is because they became popular when Hoover was president, and this treat did not cost that much.

Are these recipes really on a site called live better America? Can words sue for overly ironic use?

When low on time I have used premade biscuits for things like mini pizzas or sliders. I never considered using them for dessert, though! Looking forward to trying some of these recipes.

Jeez ... what a bunch of food SNOBS. Lots of us work for a living and don't have time to bake everything from scratch as apparently you do, making comments from your ski chalet enjoying your hot toddy....

I think the Apple Pie one looks great, something I would eat, also the pineapple upside down item looked good.

Food snob, really?

Do you have any idea how simple and fast it is to make biscuits from fresh ingredients?

I would say the BEST choice when it comes to a story on making things with already prepared biscuit dough - if you don't care for the main ingredient, probably a good idea to skip the story altogether rather than making everyone that think these are good ideas feel lazy and uncouth.

Commercial biscuits from the supermarket aren't versatile. They're disgusting on so many levels including: taste and texture, . Then there is the issue of nutrition or lack of it.

A lot of water has passed under the bridge since Julia Chi;ld first led Americans out of the land of corporate convenience foods and into the world of freshly prepared ingredients deliciously prepared. Now is not the time to regress.

I don't think the average American could undertake cooking most of these recipes (too complicated) considering most don't know how to cook. And a good cook will not use these unless they are truly hard-up.
09:31 AM on 12/18/2012
I'm going to make these and give them out to all the terrible children in neighborhood.
